Auctioneer Catherine Southon has been cataloguing various London street signs in Chislehurst, south-east London, yesterday. As feature in the Telegraph on 18th April.

The City of Westminster is selling 340 street signs, dating back to the 1950s and 1960s, with some items expected to attract bids of £300.

The first batch of 50 aluminium signs are to feature in upcoming auction. As well as another 280 signs, created by the Royal College of Art’s professor of industrial design Sir Misha Black in 1967, which are synonymous with Westminster City Council. 

“This is a chance for buyers to own a unique piece of London’s history. The signs are a key part of our London heritage and guide us around the capital." said Catherine.

The auction will be on Thursday 18th May in Chislehurst, South London and on the bidding platform www.the-saleroom.com
