Dawn is a qualified gemologist and diamond expert, having gained her FGA and DGA at the gemological institute of London in the 1990s.

She has a BA (Hons) degree in jewellery design and silversmithing, and after graduating, her first job was as a jewellery appraiser, which started her passion for gemstones, leading to a job as a rough diamond grader and gemologist, and then as an advisor to contemporary high-end jewellery designers.

Dawn is interested in the history of antique gemstone and diamond jewellery and what they represent. She has been working with Catherine Southon Auctioneers for over three years, helping out at the auctions and selling the jewellery. She joins us now as a jewellery consultant, cataloguing jewellery and assisting clients with valuations.
